Council on Recovery
Quick Facts
About This Facility
This non-profit organization has relentlessly provided addiction and co-occurring disorder awareness and effective treatment through their community programs, intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and therapeutic counseling sessions. They reach the youngest members of the community by offering in-school prevention workshops for children as young as 7 and adolescents throughout high school. Their community-wide services also include recovery coaching for clients who have finished treatment, court-mandated therapy sessions, recovery services for older adults, multi-disciplinary training for graduate student interns, and state-funded assessments.Counseling and IOP TreatmentThe Council on Recovery is committed to working with families to heal the disease of addiction, so when a client comes for treatment, the sessions will often involve family. In a program called Healing Choices, the client participates in 8 weeks of treatment which involves individual, group and family therapy, 12-Step support, relapse prevention counseling, and psychoeducation. Each client may choose to engage in holistic therapies like yoga, meditation, or mind-body skills groups to support recovery. This program includes a specialized, private track for professionals. They also offer a similar 6 week program called Discovery Choices for clients who do not have the financial resources to afford treatment. This program includes programs for pregnant mothers, parenting women, and clients with co-occurring disorders. The clinical staff at the organization also offer therapeutic counseling for people of all ages, regardless of whether addiction is present or not.
