This outpatient recovery center works primarily with clients who are referred by the court to receive counseling. The caring and professional master’s level clinicians provide mostly group therapy. Counseling for Change offers a matrix model for receiving group counseling. Level 1 involves the client attending group sessions 2 times per week for 8 weeks. These group sessions are centered around how to achieve initial sobriety, the value of 12-step participation and cognitive behavioral interventions to aid them in stopping drug or alcohol use. The 2nd level of treatment is intended for clients who need extra assistance in starting or maintaining early sobriety. For these clients, they are required to attend group therapy 3 times per week for 8 weeks. The content covered is similar to that of level 1. The clinicians also offer individual and family therapy if desired as well. In addition to helping clients with their substance use disorders, they also offer counseling for gambling addiction as well.
