About Our Men's Structured Sober Living Recovery Home in Portland, Maine The first steps taken on the road to recovery are of the utmost importance. For this reason, it is highly beneficial to learn from those who have already found success on this path. Hillview Sober Living is staffed exclusively by recovered addicts and alcoholics who utilize their personal experience to inform their approach with each individual resident. ACCOUNTABILITY, STRUCTURE & BALANCE Through personal accountability, our residents maintain clean facilities that cultivate healthy recovery and habits. Residents are assigned chores and expected to keep up with house rules upon admission. n October, 2013, Hillview Sober Living was founded by a recovered addict with a vision for clean, safe, and structured sober living where men in early recovery could practice the 12 Steps while transitioning back into the community. In 2015 the founder relocated to Florida. To ensure Hillview Sober Living's continued quality he asked two fellow recovered addicts to take over operations. The new owners shared the same vision as the founder and continued to run Hillview Sober Living with the same principles. This house seeks to provide a higher level of structure and comprehensive care to those in need of more hands on assistance. Since our inception, we have maintained the same vision and continue to help as many men achieve recovery as possible. The 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous as well as attend 12 Step meetings
