Oaklawn is the primary provider of mental health and addiction assistance in Elkhart and St. Joseph counties. Intensive residential programs are available for youth patients, and inpatient treatment is offered for adults.Addiction ServicesThe New Hops Adolescent program, exclusively available at the Elkhart campus, is an intensive 28-week substance use treatment program designed for adolescents facing moderate to severe substance use disorders. During this program, participants gain insights into substance use, its impact on individuals and families, and acquire valuable recovery skills. Oaklawn also operates Camp Mariposa, which is dedicated to supporting youth affected by substance use within their families. The camp offers a weekend overnight experience for youth aged 9-12 and a one night camp for those aged 13-17.Group therapy programs are offered for adults seeking addiction services. Medication assisted treatment, dual diagnosis care, peer support groups, and sober communities are included in the recovery journey. After inpatient treatment is finished, aftercare groups with a focus on relapse prevention are provided.Adult CareA wide range of services are offered for adults seeking mental health treatment at Oaklawn. They offer outpatient care, psychiatric services, 24/7 inpatient care, intensive case management, and transitional programs. Group therapy, individual and family therapy, and skills training are provided during outpatient services which aim to educate and empower clients. Psychiatric services include medication management, and psychiatric evaluations.Child and Adolescent CareOutpatient programs, psychiatric services, transitional programs, school system partnerships, and contracted services through the Department of Child Services and Juvenile Justice are available to youth populations struggling with mental health issues. Mishawaka Campus is a residential facility that treats youth aged 12-18 with psychiatric or behavioral disorders, intellectual disabilities, and harmful sexual behaviors. Utilizing evidence-based practices, treatment consists of individual therapy, group therapy, family involvement, medical services, public education, skills training, and spiritual programs.Oaklawn is accredited by The Joint Commission and has been serving the community for over 60 years.
