Pyramid Healthcare seeks to make treatment affordable, accepting most private insurance and Medicaid.ProgramsPyramid offers day treatment, meeting 5-6 hours per day, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), meeting 3-4 hours per day, 3 days per week, and traditional outpatient treatment for both substance use and primary mental health treatment, meeting about 4 hours per week. Traditional outpatient and IOP are also available for adolescents ages 12-17. Pyramid also offers level of care assessments as well as drug and alcohol assessments, with walk-in services available Monday-Thursday from 8 AM - 4 PM.Treatment MethodsPyramid Allentown Outpatient offers individual therapy using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) as well as peer support from others who have gone through addiction. Clients engage in group therapy specific to their conditions, learning coping and relapse-prevention strategies, sharing their experience with others and learning from others in similar circumstances. Pyramid Allentown offers specialized treatment for adolescents which includes groups tailored to the needs of teens. Clients and their loved ones participate in family or couples counseling aimed at increasing understanding and communication. Pyramid also offers educational presentations and workshops to help the community learn more about addiction and mental health.Collaborating with patients, psychiatrists prescribe and manage medications for adults with co-occurring mental health conditions. Pyramid also offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults only to help clients with opiate and alcohol cravings, implementing Suboxone and Vivitrol.Location and TransportationLocated on the northwest side of town, Pyramid Allentown Outpatient provides access to residents throughout Lehigh County and the surrounding area. LANTA bus route 209 stops near the center, connecting to the Allentown Transportation Center and Orefield. Clients traveling via car enjoy convenient access to Highway 22, connecting with I-476 and I-78, with free parking available at the center.
