About This Facility
Set Free Alaska provides addiction treatment by addressing the areas of substance abuse and mental illness through a trauma-informed approach. The services utilize mental health assessments, psychoeducational and evidenced-based education, and group and individual settings in a Christ-centered environment. Set Free Alaska provides a multi-generational approach to their programs by offering gender-specific residential treatment, outpatient services, and a children's interventional program that addresses the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents. All participants go through an initial assessment process to help determine the specific needs of the individual. While medical detox services are not available, clients can get referrals to nearby detox centers if needed. Programming can include individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based treatment practices such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement therapy (EMDR), 12-Step facilitation, and motivational interviewing (MI). Clients also attend regular 12-Step meetings throughout the program. Groups cover a range of topics including coping skills, trigger identification, communication skills, relapse prevention, and other topics.Set Free Alaska’s residential centers are located in quiet neighborhoods or country settings. While Set Free Alaska is a Christian-oriented program, clients are not required to identify as Christian in order to attend. Set Free Alaska is accredited by the Joint Commission and accepts most private insurance and medicaid.
