New Haven’s Stabilization & Assessment program offers a specialized residential environment for adolescent girls ages 12-17 experiencing acute emotional distress or transitioning from hospital care. The program emphasizes creating a safe, nurturing space where individuals can stabilize and undergo a thorough psychological assessment, addressing issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, and self-harm. Through a collaborative, family-inclusive approach, New Haven integrates parents into the healing process, ensuring both the individual and family receive support throughout. Treatment typically lasts 6-8 weeks and does not include schooling.Experience a Holistic ApproachA multi-disciplinary team conducts treatments like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-specific therapy, and the Safe & Sound Protocol, which promotes emotional regulation. Each individual’s journey is guided by a licensed clinical psychologist who conducts comprehensive assessments, providing tailored insights into cognitive and emotional health to help shape individualized treatment plans. Clients additionally participate in life skills training, recreational therapy, equine therapy, expressive therapies, mindfulness, exercise, and yoga.
