The Renfrew Center in Boston exists to be an inclusive place for adolescent girls, women, transgender women and non-binary individuals to seek treatment for various eating disorders including anorexia or bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and disordered eating such as OSFED and ARFID. They provide comprehensive, evidence-based care for clients and their families both in-person and virtually. Their day treatment, or partial hospitalization program (PHP) is intended for clients who are either stepping down from residential care, or in need of flexible yet structured treatment. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) is designed for those who need more support than traditional outpatient treatment services, and their outpatient program is designed for clients who desire weekly support in the form of individual, family or group therapy.Program DetailsThe day treatment program meets 5 days a week and includes group and individual therapy, medication management, psychiatric evaluation, 2 meals per day along with snacks, nutrition therapy, expressive therapies and psychoeducation. Their IOP meets 3 times per week and includes nutrition consultation, group therapy, psychiatric services, 1 meal per day and psychoeducation. Clients at The Renfrew Center can expect to gain the support of others around them who are sharing in a similar experience. Each client receives personally tailored treatment, with consideration for co-occurring disorders like trauma and substance use. All 3 outpatient programs can be virtual for clients’ convenience.
