Young People in Recovery (YPR) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young adults, ages 18-24, in achieving long-term recovery from substance use disorders. YPR focuses on empowering individuals through advocacy, education, and peer support, creating pathways to recovery that are accessible and tailored to the unique needs of young people. The organization strives to break the stigma surrounding addiction and recovery, fostering environments where individuals can thrive.YPR Orange County currently offers monthly Pro-Social sober events for those in recovery and who support peers in recovery. They provide weekly EPIC Life-skills trainings and groups for a local Alternative Sentencing and Parole funded treatment center. They also currently offer different workshops and events at a local medi-cal outpatient IOP and the Tustin Emergency Homeless Shelter. OCYPR also currently co-hosts a weekly All Recovery Meeting (ARM) on Thursday evenings via zoom at 6pm called Safe Space For All.What sets YPR apart is its focus on advocacy and building recovery-ready communities. By working with policymakers and stakeholders, YPR helps create systemic change to support individuals in recovery. This holistic approach, combined with its emphasis on peer-driven care, makes YPR a transformative resource for young adults striving for recovery and a brighter future.
